Ingredients

  • 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix, plus ingredients called for on the box (usually eggs, oil, and water)
  • 1/2 cup vanilla frosting
  • 12 oz white chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon shortening
  • Green food coloring
  • Christmas sprinkles
  • Pretzel sticks, broken into 1-inch pieces

Instructions

  • Bake the cake according to the cake mix instructions. Let cool completely.
  • Crumble the cooled cake into a large bowl.
  • Mix in the vanilla frosting until well combined.
  • Roll the cake mixture into 1-inch balls. Chill for at least 30 minutes.
  • Melt the white chocolate chips and shortening in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth.
  • Add green food coloring to the melted white chocolate and stir until you reach your desired shade of green.
  • Dip each chilled cake ball into the melted green chocolate, coating it completely.
  • Immediately add Christmas sprinkles to the dipped cake balls. Gently insert a pretzel stick into the bottom of each truffle.
  • Chill for at least 15 minutes to allow the chocolate to set completely.
