Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus more for garnish
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  • Heat the olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and sear for 4-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  • Reduce the heat to medium and add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter to the skillet. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.
  • Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth, then stir in the Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes (if using). Bring the sauce to a simmer, stirring constantly, until the cheese is melted and the sauce has thickened slightly, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Return the chicken breasts to the skillet and spoon the sauce over them. Reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet, and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan cheese. Serve immediately over your favorite pasta, rice, or with a side of vegetables.
