  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • 1 cup of buttermilk

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add in the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Incorporate the fresh lime juice and lime zest.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with buttermilk. Blend in the tequila last.
  • Evenly divide the batter between the prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  • Once baked, allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
