Ingredients

  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon of baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • 1 cup of unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • ½ cup of fresh strawberries, pureed
  • ½ cup of powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until evenly incorporated.
  • In another large bowl, beat butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Mix in egg and vanilla extract until well combined, then gently stir in strawberry puree.
  • Gradually fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture while maintaining the fluffiness of the batter.
  • Drop rounded portions of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes or until edges are lightly golden and centers are still soft.
  • Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
