  • 1 cup of granulated sugar
  • ½ cup of unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup of whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • Pink food coloring, to taste
  • Buttercream frosting (store-bought or homemade)
  • Sprinkles or edible heart confetti, for decoration

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy (about 3-4 minutes).
  • Add the eggs, one at a time, ensuring each is well incorporated before adding the next.
  • Stir in the milk and vanilla until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the flour, baking powder, and salt, being cautious not to overwork the batter.
  • Add pink food coloring to the batter and swirl for a marbled effect.
  • Use an ice cream scoop to fill cupcake liners about two-thirds full.
  • Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Once cooled, frost and decorate.
