Whip up these warm, gooey, and utterly delicious blackberry sweet rolls with just 5 simple ingredients and a single skillet!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 and ½ cups frozen Oregon blackberries thawed
  • 3 tablespoons softened butter
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • Optional: 1 cup powdered sugar and 1-2 tablespoons milk for icing

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175°C).
  2. Unroll the crescent dough carefully.
  3. Pinch all the seams of the dough together firmly to create one large sheet.
  4. Spread the softened butter evenly over the entire dough sheet.
  5. Combine the thawed blackberries, sugar, and vanilla in a blender.
  6. Blend until the mixture is smooth.
  7. Spread the blackberry mixture evenly over the buttered dough sheet.
  8. Starting from one long edge, carefully roll the dough into a tight log shape.
  9. Use a sharp knife to cut the log into about 8 to 10 individual rolls.
  10. Lightly grease a small cast-iron skillet.
  11. Place the cut rolls into the prepared skillet.
  12. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
  13. Remove from oven.
  14. Drizzle any remaining blackberry filling from the pan over the baked rolls.
  15. Prepare the icing by stirring together 1 cup of powdered sugar and 1-2 tablespoons of milk with a fork until smooth and pourable, if desired.
  16. Top the warm rolls with icing, if using.
  17. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Ensure butter is truly softened, not melted, for easier spreading.
Pinch crescent roll seams well to prevent unraveling during baking.
Don’t overfill the dough with the blackberry mixture for easier rolling.
Grease your skillet thoroughly to prevent sticking.
Keep an eye on the rolls; they are done when golden brown.
