Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/2 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 2 tbsp greek yogurt
  • 2 1/2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tbsp chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a microwave-safe mug (about 12 oz capacity).
  2. Ensure there are no lumps in the dry mixture, especially from the cocoa powder.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the milk, greek yogurt, maple syrup, peanut butter, and vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk until the wet mixture is completely smooth and the peanut butter is fully incorporated.
  5. Pour the wet mixture into the mug with the dry ingredients.
  6. Stir vigorously until you have a smooth batter with no lumps.
  7. Scrape the bottom and sides of the mug to ensure all dry ingredients are moistened.
  8. Gently fold the chocolate chips into the batter, distributing them evenly.
  9. Place the mug in the microwave.
  10. Microwave on high for 90 seconds.
  11. Carefully remove the hot mug from the microwave.
  12. Allow the cake to cool in the mug for 3 minutes.
  13. Serve warm, directly from the mug.

Notes

Ensure your mug is at least 12 oz to prevent overflow.
Don’t skip the 3-minute cooling time; it helps the cake set properly.
Use quality chocolate chips for the best melted chocolate pockets.
Feel free to add a dollop of whipped cream or a drizzle of honey for extra indulgence.
